The geopolitical and geostrategic key role of Turkey is demonstrated in the current global political situation in many ways: in its importance as the south-eastern flank of the North Atlantic Alliance, as the Eurasian central region at the interface of geopolitical regions and against the background of changing political and economic constellations in Eurasia, the Middle East and North Africa as well as an energy hub between Europe, the Middle East and Central Asia.
